CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air Force Association to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation’s future.

The competition, designed for any student, regardless of prior cybersecurity knowledge, challenges teams to find and fix cybersecurity vulnerabilities in virtual operating systems. Using a proprietary competition system, teams are scored on how secure they make the system. Top teams advance through the online round of competition, and the best of the best advance to the in-person National Finals Competition. For the second year, NDIT-EduTech will again cover registration fees for up to 25 schools. The registration deadline is October 5th.

Schools should contact Tony Aukland for more information. Otherwise there is a $205 registration fee for high school teams and a $165 fee for middle school teams. Waivers are available for all-girl teams, Title 1 schools, and Service Division JROTC/CAP/NSCC teams. Full program details can be found on the CyberPatriot website.
